To be fair I wouldn't exactly call a 16MB file with 85 pages of text (
and graphics? )
large.  Could you describe more fuly what you mean by 'slow', in respect of
performance?

No, it doesn't.  Large swf's can streamed, just as with other large
audio or video
files.   This does depend on how you configured the originla files though.

I think you mean 'view the page that has loaded', there, right? ;o)
