Weird, seems Flash 8 is trying to optimize your font, but only
if FlashType is enabled.
You can use this workaround to generate your files:
pdf2swf -T7 file.pdf -o file.swf
swfcombine -d -F8 file.swf -o file.swf
This will process the file as version 7, and then upgrade to version 8
afterwards.
