Sorry for my late reply. I was out of town over the (long)
weekend. Well, I think this confusion is my fault. When I started
packing synaptic for debian, there was no man-page, so I wrote
one. This man-page is included in my debian package. Synaptic had no
(extra) options in this days.
Synaptic evolved and got some usefull cmd-line options. Then I
included a man-page in the upstream source, but forgot to delete the
debian one (it was part of the debian package diff, but wasn't
installed).
There used to be a package synaptic (WINGs) and gsynaptic
(Gtk). Mostly because I wasn't confident about the stability of the
early gtk versions of synaptic. But now there is only the gtk version
in debian, as the wings version isn't up-to-date.
I hope this clears the confusion I caused :)
bye,
Michael
