The current version sounds very choppy indeed once you start getting
close to contest speed (28-32 WPM). I can make it sound better by
dropping the speed whilst tweaking the weighting. But it doesn't
sound anywhere near as good as the CT keyer. Also, I reckon cwdaemon
sends slower than the WPM suggest, although I haven't verified this.
I have had a go at nicing up the daemon, but it didn't make any
noticable difference, so I put it down to lack of hardware speed, and
the fact that Linux is not a real-time OS.
As the proud owner of a tired old 300 MHz notebook, I am keen to be
involved as a CWDAEMON beta tester.
