Thank you for your note about the rules and that the exchange for
non-Mid Atlantic US stations is the USPS 2 character state
abbreviations. I am copying this response to the tlf-development list to
assure no confusion.

Actually, my comments were to the chief developer of the program in an
effort to describe various types of exchanges used by QSO parties in the
US to help him understand the what features would be helpful to enable
me set up the program for logging those contests. It was not intended
to be a description of how to set up the logging templates.

In fact I am in the process of doing so for the NE QSO party and
several other state QSO parties. Unfortunately, the Mid Atalantic QSO
party has 5 character multipliers while tlf has a maximum field length
of three or four characters. In the NE QSO Party, they have the option
of using either 5 or 3 characrter multiplier list due to the limitation
of some logging software to handle only 3 characters.

While I can create a 3 character multiplier list for the Mid Atlantic
QSO Party, the log would have to be edited to be submitted as you
require the 5 characters. Obviously this presents problems.
