I am using GNU Emacs 23.1.50.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600) on Windows XP. Both tramp that came with emacs and 2.1.18 are very very slow to the point that it's impossible to work with. I am using plink as the method when I connect to the remote site.
Is there any way I can debug and accelerate the connection?
