You are twice right, this patch is better and we should fix endianity
outside the OS part. I'll will add your patch in TSP, and it will be in the
next release.
If you got some question directly connected to the jSynoptic part, I'm not a
specialist, but one of the jSynoptic developer is a good colleague in
ASTRIUM, and I can transfer your questions if you want.
Did you tried the tsp_gdisp+ tool ? It offers some of the jSynoptic
functionalities, if you can have gtk. It is of course far less generic (not
a framework to dynamically build new MMI) but it's very very fast (Our last
benchmark show more than 100 curves of 10000 samples at 100hz with few host
CPU)

Thinking it better.. endianness depends only on the hardware right? This
(untested) patch is probably better. but perhaps you should set the
endianness independently of the OS?
