Follow-up Comment #2, task #11388 (project weechat):

I want to have private messages display in the current buffer, regardless of
which channel/server they are coming from. It makes it very convenient for
using tools such as the Bitlbee IM client, as well as keeping conversations
with people on other networks while conversing in a specific channel. Merging
buffers must be done manually and would keep the messages only in the buffer
which I merge them with, which means I would still have to switch around
between buffers.
