What about Debian oldstable and Centos ?
Wget2 should be buildable wherever a C99 compiler is available.
On the other hand side, it is not too much work to build latest libidn /
libidn2 + dependencies on older systems.
I am not saying no or yes, just would like to really want it for a good reason.
A while ago I experimented with the wchar code - and it is *not* a replacement
for libunistring (wchar stuff is pretty unportable). So all we can do is remove
support for libidn2 < 0.14.0.
