As a short term solution you could save that script in a separate file, name the function \scoop and use it via an \include statement.

I guess what you are looking for is the brassBend glyph defined in SMuFL compliant fonts like Bravura or Ekmelos with codepoint U+E5E3.  And it is one of the few musical symbols which is also define
