Hi
Feel free to discard/delete this post if you think it is noise.
acl 2.2.52
coreutils 8.21
kernel 3.13
local umask 0002, ssh umask 0022
mount point -t ext4 -o defaults
# tune2fs -l /dev/sdc2|grep acl
Default mount options: user_xattr acl

Having acl automatic inheritance working OK on mkdir & touch, I meet the
behaviour in title. I read the related posix draft (headache) and also papers
and slides from Andreas (mans, rich-alc ...), maybe my poor english is not
enough. First I posted help/info requests in debian/ubuntu/coreutils.gnu.org
forums/mailing lists with no success.
Case:
~ ls -ld /srv
drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 oct. 7 16:58 /srv
~ getfacl -t /srv/test/
getfacl : remove first /...
# file: srv/test/
USER mee rwx rwx
user reader r-x r-x
GROUP writers rwx rwx
group reader r-x r-x
group writers rwx rwx
mask rwx rwx
other --- ---

~ cp -r /media/mee/USPEED/dir/ /srv/test (fat32 source, no acl there, no cp
alias)
~ getfacl -Rt /srv/test/
getfacl : remove first /...
# file: srv/test/ (OK, same as yet shown above)
USER mee rwx rwx
user reader r-x r-x
GROUP writers rwx rwx
group reader r-x r-x
group writers rwx rwx
mask rwx rwx
other --- ---

# file: srv/test//dir
USER mee rwx rwx
user reader R-X r-x (rx lost)
GROUP writers RWX rwx (all lost)
group reader R-X r-x (rx lost)
group writers RWX rwx (all lost)
mask --- rwx (effective is lost?)
other --- ---

# file: srv/test//dir/file
USER mee rw-
user reader r-X (all lost (can't traverse dir))
GROUP writers rWX (all lost (can't traverse dir))
group reader r-X (all lost (can't traverse dir))
group writers rWX (all lost (can't traverse dir))
mask r-- (write lost)
other ---

Please, should I submit a bug or do I misunderstand something?

Thank you
