It won't work on compiled dictionaries. It only works on sorted words
lists. In that case it does save a lot. More will be saved by bziping
it.
BTW: Gzip does a better job of compressing sorted word lists than bzip2
does. Bzip2 does better than gzip if it unsorted. In fact for an english
word list the compression ratio was about the same for both a sorted and
unsorted list. Bzip does a better job of compressing files that are
passed through by utility though.
