[Aspell-user] Misspelled word highlighting and "dumb terminal" interface |

Hello,
I apologize if this question is dealt with somewhere - I looked through
the manual and did various web searches, without finding any mention of
this problem.
I'm working with Aspell versions 0.50 and 0.50.3 (on a FreeBSD and
Solaris machine respectively) and am having two problems:
1. The mis-spelled word is not highlighted (in an SSH window or an
X-term).
2. When attempting to use the "dumb terminal" interface to aspell, (by
setting TERM to `unknown') I
can tell which word is mis-spelled because it is sarrounded by stars (*)
as advertised, but when attempting to pick one of the offered choices or
add the word to my dictionary, I'm told "Sorry, this is an invalid
choice." I have to CTRL-backslash out of aspell to exit (dumping core
typically).
Has anyone experienced this behavior before?
Thanks very much,
Ivan Fetch.
