[Aspell-user] Problems with using Aspell on Windows 7 and using it with GNU Emacs

Hi, I try to use spell checking on Windows 7 withoug Cycwin (GNU Emacs
23.3.1).  I've installed Aspell and pointed ispell-program-name to it.
Now my questions:
- When I start spell checking, Emacs says:
Starting new Ispell process [american] ...
ispell-check-version: C:\Users\u.scholz\Software\Aspell\Aspell-en-0.50-2-3.exe 
exited with code 10
Why is going wrong?
- Acutally, I've installed two versions of Aspell: Aspell-
en-0.50-2-3.exe and Aspell-de-0.50-2-3.exe  How to choose the right one
in case I want to check English or German text?
- The Aspell web site points me to word lists. Do I need them extra?
