I fixed it now by updating the @node arguments in doc/preview-latex.texi.

I first tried to remove the optional args in all files, but then
./autogen.sh fails.  E.g. in doc/install.texi we have:

@ifset rawfile
@include macros.texi
@node Installation,,(dir),(dir)
@top Installing @AUCTeX{}
@end ifset

The rawfile conditional suggests that it is intended for the use with
./autogen.sh.  I don't have time to look into the details now, maybe
tomorrow.

Yes.  Removing all optional @node args in doc/preview-latex.texi
works, AFAICS.
