Most likely the document preamble is not fit for use with mylatex.ltx
(the master document has to have a line containing just
\begin{document}
in it).

Try turning off preamble cashing with C-c C-p C-c C-f and see if that
helps.  But it may be better to fix the preamble since it saves time.
