Could you please add the setting nil as an option? (Now I need to do
it myself every time auctex gets upgraded on my system.)

Sometimes I write programs in CWEB (emacs-goodies-el/cwebm.el) and
C/C++ uses << and >> as operators. This messes up the fonts
completely. (I agree that cwebm.el is more of a hack but, still, what
har would it be in adding the nil option?)
