[AUCTeX] Messes up C-c C-w key binding

It appears to me that something in Auctex messes up the C-c C-w key 
binding. It only has an issue in the Auctex mode and toggles bad boxes 
on and off. This already has a key binding so I was wondering how to 
shut this off or if this is an error where to look to change it.
