[AUCTeX] How to install the new style files?

Hello everyone,

recently the CVS version of AUCTeX (which I use) received some updates
of new style files (siunitx.el, mflogo.el, footmisc.el, afterpage.el and
various more), provided by Mads and other people.

However, when I follow the typical procedure (autogen.sh, configure,
make, make install) after upgrades I see that these new files neither
get byte-compiled into *.elc (like all the other *.el files in the
styles directory) nor they are installed to my installation target.

Is there anything that has to be done on my side or is it a bug in the
AUCTeX configure/make process?
