I can't check right now, I'll do that in one or two hours, but I last opened a TeXinfo file yesterday without problems, could you please give us more information about how to reproduce the error (it was the first file you opened in the Emacs session or AUCTeX had been already loaded beforehand? This happens only with that file or all files?) or trace back the culprit yourself?
