Sorry, I did not notice these patches in my inbox as I was not Cc'd on
them.  I took a cursory look at the documentation and it seems much
better now, thanks.  I assume the details of where aclocal --install
copies things will be added to the Automake manual later (this doesn't
seem to be in the current automake patches that I have).

I am going to try all these patches to automake/autoconf/libtool soon; I
will report back with the results!
