Basically none.

But ... current cvs autoconf's configure seems completely defective to
me:

With a fresh cvs checkout as of a couple of minutes ago on FC4:

# ./configure --prefix=/opt/gnu
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking whether sh -n works... yes
checking for expr... no
checking for gm4... no
checking for gnum4... no
checking for m4... no
checking whether m4 supports frozen files... yes
checking for perl... no
...

# which perl m4 expr
/usr/bin/perl
/usr/bin/m4
/usr/bin/expr

?!?!?

Corresponding excerpt from config.log:
....
configure:2144: checking for expr
configure:2162: found /usr/bin/expr
configure:2175: result: no
configure:2195: checking for gm4
configure:2226: result: no
configure:2195: checking for gnum4
configure:2226: result: no
configure:2195: checking for m4
configure:2213: found /usr/bin/m4
configure:2226: result: no
configure:2236: checking whether m4 supports frozen files
configure:2248: result: yes
configure:2274: checking for perl
configure:2292: found /usr/bin/perl
configure:2306: result: no
...
