How to build autoconf? |

There is no configure or makefile in the repository I cloned (git
clone git://git.sv.gnu.org/autoconf). I tried to run my current
version of 'autoconf' on the directory, but it says it is too low of a
version (this is the reason why I am trying to build it in the first
place!) How do I build it?
