Yes, but no, ansi2knr would still work on DOS if anyone needed it,
it's just necessary to avoid filenames that end in "_" after being
truncated.

Yes, it would. Also nice for that program would be a "--djtar" option
or some such, which knew about how djtar renames .info-N files to
avoid name conflicts.

Might want to be an option though, since various packages are probably
non-starters on DOS, or 14-char SysV, and therefore not interested in
checking.
