The real work to do is updating autoreconf.  That is the universal
autogen.sh.  People seem to have forgotten this program.

Last year, there was an attempt to make catch up, unfortunately two of
the lead Autoconf developers could not find a consensus on aclocal
replacement.  Since one of the two no longer seem to have spare time
for Autoconf, we might find a solution :) :) :)
