The usual setup is to have one per subdirectory,
build many nodist_LTLIBRARIES in child-packages, and gather them
in parent packages.


SUBDIRS = sub1 sub2 ...
libtop_la_SOURCES =
libtop_la_LIBADD = \
  sub1/ \
  sub2/ \


libsub1_la_SOURCES = ...

[src/sub2/]   (with nested packages)

SUBDIRS = sub2.1 sub2.2 ...
libsub2_la_SOURCES =
libsub2_la_LIBADD = \
  sub2.1/ \
  sub2.2/ \
