I've seen that new snapshots of avr-gcc are available for linux: when a new snapshots will be available for win32 ?
Since the new version of the compiler will be delivered in december, will be useful to test the new version also in win32 systems.
Maybe you already know it, but a new elf-to-coff tool is available : Jason Riffel ha posted in the avrgcc forum on avrfreaks.org his new tool objtool.exe to convert elf file in cof file.
It is still 0.1 beta version and do not have symbols support at this version (in this version you can not watch variables), but it produce a cof file that can be load with avrstudio, and you can step the program, run, insert breakpoint like with the obj file generated by avr-objcopy command.
I tested it with my application (about 29 Kb) and it worked well (I'm using AVRstudio 3.53 with JTAG ICE and ATmega128).
We all do not know if and when AVRstudio will support elf format, but I hope that soon we will have the possibility to watch variables.
