Did you check the avr-libc documentation?

If it's not in there, then the latest releases on everything work well together:
binutils 2.15
gcc 3.4.1
avr-libc 1.0.4
gdb 6.1 (or is the latest 6.2?, I can't remember offhand)

and then there are the various other AVR tools:
avrdude
uisp
simulavr
avarice
