Messages thread using In-reply-to: and/or References: headers so that good email clients with "threaded view" can accurately list messages hierarchically that one can read incoming messages in the spoken order rather than time sent. New subjects should have new threads and the only way to do that is with a new message, not one created with your email client Reply function.
