Yes.  In general, at least until ftp.gnu.org is again available, my
development procedure is to commit all changes either to the
Version_2_6_1 or HEAD CVS branch, then at some interval when an
important change is made, build and release the cvs tagged version as
a Debian package, which then automatically updates the temporary
website.
