Surely you jest!!  OTOH: your right!
sigh....
This explains why I was able to use the browser remotely under ssh from a WinXp 
laptop, and not
from my computer console.  :-(

Should I try to fix this?  Since it doesn't involve the fractal internal 
linkages of the
axiom/spad/lisp system I might have success.

Greg: I copied the list, since it doesn't enhance people's opinions to have 
hidden "secret"
keys/states in machines.
