There was. I'm debugging it now.

I have RH7.2, RH9, FC4, FC5, Ubuntu, FreeBSD (not working yet), MAC OSX
(not working yet), XP2 (partial), Red Flag Linux, Knoppix and Doyen running
on various machines. I've tried to build a SUSE machine and a Solaris x86
machine without success so far. I've tested Axiom on the working machines.

I just built a new Debian machine to extend testing to that platform
which has not been a problem in the past. Future releases will be tested.

It should 'just work' but I keep finding new 'features' in new versions
of operating systems that require me to extend my local compile farm
(thus extending the effort to create gold). For instance, FC5 broke the
X portion of the system. Renaud pointed this out to me in July at ISSAC
so I built an FC5 system to test it. (A motherboard failure (since fixed)
delayed the release of gold).

I can't claim that it does 'just work' but I do try hard to make it so.
