Franz,

I'm a little puzzled by what you mean by "axiom.silver 580".
Specifically, what SVN checkout command did you use?

I'm unaware of the file "Makefile.linux.pamphlet".

You commented that for Aldor you did:
  for pp in *.pamphlet ; do document $pp ; done
but Aldor doesn't have pamphlet files.

The --enable-checking only exists in the branches and is 
not in silver, as far as I'm aware.
