The last supported version of Axiom on the 10.4 is listed here:
http://axiom-developer.org/axiom-website/download.html

1) download the binary axiom-macosxppc-mar2008-bin.tgz
2) tar -zxf axiom-macosxppc-mar2008-bin.tgz
3) cd axiom
4) export AXIOM=`pwd`/mnt/macosxppc
5) export PATH=$AXIOM/bin:$PATH
6) axiom -nox   (runs axiom with no X support)
