I can recognise that problem... we have a supposedly permanent network
link here, but it gets adversely affected by all sorts of things.. E.g
the power company seems to think nothing of turning off large
chunks of a county with no notice, pretty much whenever its convenient,
e.g. for cutting down trees somewhere miles away. Plus there are random
outages whenever the wind blows, etc. All of these seem quite capable of
crashing our ISP's machines or their upstream provider.
So it is rare for a week to go by with no internet problems, and some days
are the network comes and goes every hour or so. It's bad enough to loose
a skype call when the net goes away, or to loose access to on-line
dictionaries, but I really wouldn't like to be mid-edit when things go
down...
