I did consider this. However, we're likely to need documents within
documents and temporary resetting of footnote counters and the like to
demonstrate all features, and I don't know how to do that in Texinfo
(if it can be done). Furthermore, the LaTeX output module is likely
to be the most important interface for a long time, and it is
therefore important to be able to demonstrate it well.
