Once you're in a directory, you no longer have to reference that directory
in every target on every make command line. It's mild.

Actually, I'd prefer you didn't because then we'd have to maintain those
makefiles. Also, because some local targets would then work correctly,
I'd be more apt to switch to non-Bison habits and accidentally use
implicit targets that succeed but miss dependencies.

It's no so bad. After your further explanation, it sounds like there may
be real benefits. Thanks.
