    CI: avoid useless git costs
    Travis answered favorably to my suggestion to provide a means to
    disable git clone on some jobs (issue 7542).  See
    * .travis.yml: Disable git globally, enable it for i. the compile job,
    and ii. the test job on ICC which needs the script.
