Wrong processing of output from asa command

I just did some experiments with a2ps, version 12 on SGI Irix.

Unfortunately we have many old Fortran programs producing tons of output,
which contains the typical Fortran formatting characters (following is an
excerpt form the man page):
* ' ' (Blank) Single new line before printing
* 0 Double new line before printing
* 1 New page before printing
*       +    Overprint previous line

Putting the output from asa into a2ps does everything right - except the
converted lines with the "+" -sign. The output from asa is simply a <cr>
with following underscores and this is exactly what a2ps writes. The only
thing that can be changed is the representatin of the carriage return.

One option could be extend the --interpret to carriage returns.

I don't know if it would be possible or even desirable for the community to
fix this because my PS expertise is to small.
