Duplex/tumble mode

The following report of a possible bug in a2ps is submitted.

SHORT: duplex/tumble flag not being sent to printer

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: When printing a file to a printer in DUPLEX or TUMBLE
mode, a2ps appears to be formatting the document correctly, but the printer
does not print in duplex/tumble. Printers respond normally when used from
other applications.

DETAILS:

The following command is typed at the prompt:

prompt$ a2ps -R --columns=1 --sides='tumble' -P HP_2499 fname.py

The response is:

[fname.py (Python): 6 pages on 3 sheets]
request id is Phaser_2499-1072 (1 file(s))
[Total: 6 pages on 3 sheets] sent to the printer `Phaser_2499'
[11 lines wrapped]

The printed output is in single-column portrait mode, but is not duplexed
(tumbled or notumble).

I have verified that this problem occurs with two separate networked printers
(one an HP, one a Xerox). I have also verified that using other applications
(e.g., kprinter) *will* print in duplex and tumble modes on both of the
printers.

Info:
Fedora Core 5
cpu: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.20GHz (from /proc/cpuinfo)
kernel: 2.6.17-1.2174_FC5smp (from uname -a)
GNU a2ps 4.13 (from a2ps --version)
cups 1.2.2-1.8 (from yum list)

I have been successful using a2ps in times past to do duplex/tumble printing
to these two printers. I believe the problem may be unique to Fedora Core 5.

Thank you.
