      I am afraid that I don't quite understand what the problem is.
      Could you simplify your examples a little and point to the
      problem?
      
      If I undestand ⍞ correctly then it should work like this:
      
           Prompt←"--> "   ⍝ the prompt
                ⍞←Prompt ◊ Answer←⍞
          --> my input
                
                Answer   ⍝ show the answer
              my input
