There was a user-wrtten rule for some bison file that caused automake
to emit Perl warnings for (because the yacc and lex languages had no
'compile' attribute); I submitted a naive patch, but it prompted you to
rewrite a large portion of automake.
The relevant thread is '[mini-patch] Fix a set of warnings' of June
16th on automake-patches.  It's most likely fixed now, but it's been a
while since I built binutils.
