autogen support needed

Folks,

I'm using GNU AutoGen in the upcoming release of NTP and I need support
for GNU AutoGen in 'missing' as only a tiny number of developers will be
making changes to the "source" files that are processed by AutoGen, and
many developers are complaining about either not wanting to install
autogen and guile or the difficulties they are having trying to get
guile installed on their systems.

Regardless of the latter point, it would be Good for the "missing"
script to support GNU AutoGen.

What can I do to make this happen quickly?

I would hate to have to start using "maintainer mode" in my
Makefile.am's as a way to get around this problem.
