I don't reply directly to newsgroups, if it can be avoided. Besides,
Chet Ramey said it was okay to reply on this list. It's also the list
recommended in the man pages.
You aren't reporting a bug, you are asking for instructions on shell
syntax.
Paul is correct that this is a question for comp.unix.shell.
