[Bug binutils/590] New: Notice "$d" symbols when disassembling

From: danfuzz at milk dot com
Subject: [Bug binutils/590] New: Notice "$d" symbols when disassembling
Date: 30 Nov 2004 01:32:04 -0000

The assembler is very good about emitting the symbol "$d" in front of any data
area, but when the code
is disassembled (e.g., with objdump), it will treat data areas as code and
print out nonsense
instructions rather than just dumping the data. It'd be great if the
disassembler noticed the "$d"s and
just printed out the data without the useless instruction decoding.
