------- Additional Comments From Ralf dot Wildenhues at gmx dot de 2009-08-17
17:09 -------
If I understand this bug report correctly, then it is not present in the current
CVS sources any more. This change seems to have removed the offending code:
2007-03-15 H.J. Lu [...]
[...]
* doc/Makefile.am (binutils_TEXINFOS): Removed.
(AM_MAKEINFOFLAGS): Add -I ../../bfd/doc.
(TEXI2DVI): Likewise.
(config.texi): Removed.
(MOSTLYCLEANFILES): Remove config.texi.
* doc/Makefile.in: Regenerated.
* doc/binutils.texi: Include bfdver.texi instead of
config.texi.
The code to generate bfdver.texi in bfd/doc/Makefile.am seems to not contain
any issues offending Solaris /bin/sh. Of course, 'date +%B %Y' is still not
portable, and is used in the rule to create bfdver.texi, but it's needed only
when hacking on the build system anyway; also, that's not what this bug report
is about. :-)
The "..`..".."..`.." nesting is not present in the bfdver.texi rule any more.
Can this bug thus be closed?
