Hello,
It's been happening for months, but I failed to report it here, thinking
it would get sorted over time. I've reported the problem on Dovecot's
mailing list, but it is believed to be a gold problem, so here I am
trying to get you to notice :)
I'm using GCC 4.5.3 with the gold linker on FreeBSD 8.2
Here are the instructions to compile Dovecot 2:
http://wiki2.dovecot.org/CompilingSource
Once it's compiled, you can go to :
src/pop3-login/
and do
./pop3-login
It should segfault.
The trace isn't really meaningful unfortunately.
The fix is to use the standard linker, so there must be something that
gold is doing wrong, but I don't have enough knowledge in this field in
order to be able to help.
Hopefully, someone on here will have an idea :)
Cheers,
Olivier
