Have you tried using the current mainline development sources ?  (It may 
well be that this problem has already been fixed there).

If the problem still exists, please could you file a bug report here:

Including a test case will help.  Including an object file to link 
(instead of a C source file) will help even more.  It will also be 
useful to know if the problem happens with other AIX versions or if it 
is specific to 6.1.
