Try building and installing a fresh copy of GNU libiconv
<ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/libiconv/libiconv-1.8.tar.gz> and GNU gettext
<ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gettext/gettext-0.11.5.tar.gz>, and make sure
you're pointing to them properly when configuring a fresh copy of Bison.

Or, if that's too much trouble, try configuring Bison with
"configure --disable-nls".
I took the last option, for the moment, and it works just fine.

If you or any of the bison or other GNU projects would like an account on this box for
portability issues or development, I'm more than willing.
