I hope so too, but I'm not sure. It turns out that while debugging, I
inserted a deleted a lot of logging code in various places in the
source, so I really changed the memory layout quite a lot. The only
time I actually managed to fix the problem, though, was by commenting
out that one close() call.
Still, it's a good suggestion to eliminate the threads, so tried that by
diddling with src/Makefile and src/conf.h and recompiling all the object
files. (aside: is there a better way to do this?) The result was
exactly the same.
BTW, I think I forgot to mention this before, but this is v2.0.3. I'm
going to download and try 2.0.4pre and see if it does the same thing.
